A lifetime dedicated to advocacy and community
Rev. Dr. Helen Hunter has dedicated over 30 years to serving underserved populations, particularly in housing, social justice, community activisim, and healthcare. Her extensive work with various social, educational, and governmental entities has focused on implementing crucial non-smoking policies for vulnerable communities, and representing constituents facing legal, housing and employment dilemmas. As a board-certified chaplain, Helen is an experienced and compassionate provider of spiritual and pastoral care services to families, indigents, care facilities, businesses, and employers. She is an Ordained Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AMEC), having pastored several AME churches and inititated multiple community ministries. Helen’s ministerial focus is firmly rooted in mitigating homelessness and eliminating all forms of racial bias and discrimination. She currently serves as an Assistant Pastor at Holy Trinity Community AME Church in Mesa, Arizona.

Helen lives by the principle of "love neighbor, love self," embodying a leadership style rooted in empathy, action, and genuine care for all Arizona communities.

Her decades of experience working with diverse groups have equipped her with the understanding and skills necessary to bring about meaningful change, making her commitment to a better Arizona deeply rooted in practical experience and heartfelt dedication.
